SHEILA ENGLISH
Sheila English joined the Henning Byrne LLP Litigation Team in 2019. She specializes in Litigation, WCB Claims, and Builder’s Lein.
Sheila obtained her law degree from the University of Alberta. She graduated from the U of A in 1994 but I did not article until 2004 (part time) and was called in 2006. She worked as in injured worker advocate from 2001 to 2005 representing injured workers with appeals. Starting out with a small general practice firm, she gained experience in civil litigation with a focus on commercial disputes. Sheila then narrowed down her focus to commercial litigation services. Focusing on contract disputes, wrongful dismissal and bankruptcy matters. She provides Builder’s Lien services, wrongful dismissal services and WCB representation for employers.
The WCB representation is geared towards assisting employers in the appeal process if you have an injured employee and there are issues with your claim management. The impact of a work injury can greatly impact your WCB premiums as an employer. Sheila can provide assistance in reviewing a claim, advising on claim decisions, and represent you in the two tiered appeal process at the WCB.
Outside of the office, Sheila enjoys playing Hockey and Golf. She also volunteers as a member of the Dovercourt Community Garden Committee and maintains a community garden, including the community garden bed for donation to charitable organizations and families in need in our community.
